I stopped playing on Fiona when open beta came out :/

Vindictus is a nice game. I got accepted into Closed Beta but never got the chance to play LOL. So I wasted it. XD Anyway there is a Video Game section for games...So I'll be moving this thread over there.

The sad thing is...my computer sucks so much that it can't even support Vindictus even if I set the Graphic to LOWEST LOL. I only gone past the Tutorial part with the giant spider...then I was like "damn I need to update my computer."

I would appreciate it a lot if one of you know how to update graphic card? T_T I tried to find a tutorial online but I am scared to actually try it out because I don't want to mess up my computer.

I'm just gonna assume your computer is a desktop PC and is a prebuilt system.

Want to post your manufacturer and model, so I can recommend a video card that your system would be capable of using?

Edit 2: If you have a laptop, or an AIO system (the system is in the monitor, like an iMac) then give up, turn around and take a nice jog in the snow to best buy to get a new computer.

Either way, I'll post a few video cards.

For PCI-E ports, this should be for any recent computer made since 2006:
GT240 is pretty much the cheapest for performance, around $80 after MIR.
If you want something cheaper, ATI HD5450 is around $55, but is around 1/3 of the power of a GT240.
Good performance/price right now is the GTX460, which can run all existing games at highest settings for around $200

For AGP ports, if you're using a Pentium 4 system, this is for you:
The ATI HD4650 is $70 after MIR. That is all.

You can buy all of this at the NCIX retail store in First Markham Place.

Oooh, wait since you are pretty knowledgeable about computers. Are GeForce's graphic cards better than ATI HD series? Also, which one is better GTX or GTS series?

I am looking at the computers they offer at TigerDirect... and I am thinking of getting something around 500$~800$ and at most around 1000$. But that will be after I save up money. XD Gaming computers are always more expensive right? What would you recommend for a decent computer to have in RAM, CPU, Graphic card, etc? I am not a computer expert so when it comes to stuff like that...I don't know what to do. ><

AMD/ATI is currently dominating the market, but Nvidia claims the best mid-range card in the market. The GTX series is generally better than the GTS series, and is usually worth the premium price.

Generally, it's going to be more expensive than your casual facebook farmville systems.

For RAM, 4-6GB DDR3 would be ideal, most prebuilts come equipped with 4-6GB anyways.

I personally perfer Intel. AMD is good for the price, but it's performance pales in comparison, for gaming, a dual core is adequate for most modern games, most games don't even use up to 2 cores. Go for a quad core if you do more CPU intensive tasks, avoid hex cores because their price atm.

Video cards, lower-than-entry would be ATI HD4650, entry-range would be ATI HD5670, mid-range would be Nvidia GTX 460, and high end would be ATI HD 5890 (I doubt you'll ever get this one, but it runs crysis better than the rest). Remember the simple rule, first number is series, every number after is relative performance, so a HD4850 would run circles around a HD5450, while the HD5450 would destroy the 9200SE.

Unless you're using a motherboard from 2002, a sound card is not needed.

Hard drives, avoid Seagate like the plague, even if it is $68/TB, it fails often.

Look for deals on redflagdeals.ca, if you're planning on buying upgrades later, make sure your power supply can handle it.

And to top it all off, don't buy a mac, foxconn makes horrible quality parts!

In general, yes. In gaming, it won't make much of a difference.
