    Club Workshops?

Post  MEKIseki on Sat Oct 23, 2010 12:15 am

I was just thinking that it might be cool if the club had some workshops so that members could learn some new skills and just have fun in general.

For example, Someone might choose to hold a armour-making workshop and members could sign up for it and make armour of their own.

    I have considerable knowledge regarding:
    -drawing/graphics(traditional+various painting and editing programs)
-cosplay (where to buy, how to sew, how to make props+armour)

    but I'm quite clueless about:
    -video editing
-the vocaloid program (it's been sitting on my laptop for forever xDD)

I'm eager to share my knowledge, but I'm also eager to learn new things.
There are so many members in the club and I'm confident that each of us have our own unique skills and talents. I feel that it would be a shame if we couldn't learn from each other. I think that the best method would be to hold organized workshops.
They wouldn't have to include all club members, just those who are interested. Only thing is, I don't know when they could happen because it might be unorthodox to have them during regular meetings (after all, we will be doing other things.....right?).

Of course, this is just a suggestion xDD so feel free to support or completely trash.

I feel obligated to head the Gundam plastic model workshop, because I'm bored and have nothing else to do but play Project DIVA 2nd.

Can't video edit and draw for beans but I do understand the vocaloid program.

I know that art council has similar workshops (but for artistic techniques). You can volunteer to hold workshops and others can sign up for them on a piece of paper. Though I'm not sure when it would be convenient for the club to host them.

    I want to make a Gundam!I admire them every time I pass by hobby shops. Last time I tried to build a Gundam (years ago), my brother told be that I suck and took it from me. That's the end of my plastic model building repertoire ;______;

If we are going to hold workshops, we need to have an organized list instead of just random shouts here and there, otherwise it would be very hard to organize. For example, I need at least 2 days to get all the supplies and example kits in order. Maybe not for next meeting, but the one after, perhaps?

Yes, I think I'll type up sign up sheets so that volunteers can either sign up to host a workshop or take one.
I think there needs to be a sticky on workshops (that is, if they can become an integrated part of anime club) so that people can see what is available and when it is happening.

^I agree. That's why we shall worship the golden rules of proportion like our goddess
Hmm variety would just make this club awesomer! Though we should create a master list of occurring workshops.
On my part I guess I could contribute something for erhh, anatomy or composition or any comic creating tips?
