So I thought that we might go to an anime convention as one of our club activities.

Anyways, if you would attend this event vote on the poll at the top. Once again, you will have to highlight selections because the font is the same colour as the background and the execs haven't fixed it yet.

That's gonna be one expensive field trip...

So expensive...even if we went, would we go as a school club field-trip (which may include a teacher) or just as a regular group?

I personally want to go (I never went to one before)...But like our teacher supervisor said. This event happens during the weekends so it not a school field trip. Not all parents will allow their child so if we want to go as a group, parent should be inform and know where their child is going. Everyone know that a convention is something big and there's no way our teacher will take responsibility of all of us. Therefore parents should also keep in mind that we are responsible of whatever happens to us (woah sounds so...ohlala). We can always try fundraising to help us pay the field trip. But people will still have to pay a little for themselves if they want to go.

I think it'd be cool to have a fundraising event to help pay for convention fees. I personally spend waayyyy too much at AN every year so I'd love this. xDDDD

on another note, if anyone has any general questions about AN and also booking hotels near the con, I can help.

Well, I'm definitely going to AN this year. So count me in. =D

I am I planning on doing an early group registration this year so that would be awesome.

The fundraising idea sounds awesomeee. Anything to save on those convention fees! 8D

Although, because of the nature of the event, I wouldn't consider it a school field trip kind of event, but a sort of group of friends going out to a convention for fun kind of thing. The group registration tickets lets you skip the big long lineup to get in, and it gives you a pass to AN for the entire weekend for the price of just Saturday, so that'll help save money. AND, just because you buy as a group, doesn't mean you have to stick together as a group, you'll each get an individual email with your ticket, and you can just hand it in. For those who find a few friends to share a room, hotels are also a lot of fun, if you want to stay over night. 8D

Hmmm, I'm going to think, people who help out in fundraising will be put on a list.

If you're on that list and are planning to go to AN, we'll split the profits among evenly to those people who helped as a discount to their cost?

wait...if we some how manage to go..where are we staying? Are we gonna try to get 40+ people into a room or are we going to have us all split up? are the rooms gonna be co-ed *drools*?

As mentioned in today's meeting (if you managed to make it), ti's likely gonna be talked about during the club meetings, but ultimately we will have to arrange it ourselves as individuals independent of the school club. If we were to label it as a club activity, then the school is automatically responsible for us, which I doubt would end well.

Just an Fyi, for any grade 12s, prom is scheduled on the same week (Thurday: Prom, Friday-Sunday: AN)

If you plan to go to prom (and the inevitable after party), keep in mind you will be extremely tired on that week.
