    Above the world, just above our planet’s atmosphere, lies a grand, white building. Shielded by old magic from all environmental harm and undetectable through normal means, this building houses the single most important object in all of Earth and the members who govern the laws of nature. This building houses the Society Members and the “Balance”.

    The members are individuals selected by previous members of their affliction. Each selected for any of their prominent characteristics or personalities. They once were regular beings carrying on their daily lives until they were given the power and crowned as successful heirs to rule over the laws. These members represent Magick, Knowledge, Good, Evil, Dream, Nightmare, Nature, and Time.
    With the member of Time being the head of the members, the members govern their respective affliction, settling down conflicts, and keep a watchful eye on Balance, the object with no fixed shape, in order to maintain natural harmony throughout earth.

    But what happens when the Balance is lost? The most powerful object in the world suddenly disappeared. Who did this? What will happen next? What if a human being gains control of this object? The Society members will race against the clock to find the lost Balance and attempt to retrieve it, all while trying to find the person responsible for causing all this.

    Ok so that is the basic story and I will eventually improve it to clear any confusion. SO this is how it will work: If you are interested, then you will be signing up by submitting a character profile. It should follow this template:

    I’m sure most of you will use this template but if you want to elaborate or have a few extra components to it, then go for it. The more details, the easier for us to imagine what your character will look and act like.

    Now onto the conditions:
    1.) This story will take place in the 21st century Earth so there will be many cities we may be in, but for now, I will limit the playing field to Japan since we are the anime club. Major cities like Tokyo, Kyoto and others (yes, I’m not smart with this) will be included but for villages or towns, just refer to them as the village north of Tokyo.

    2.) You don’t have to be a human with special powers, but remember, this the 21st century so the only way you are going get around major cities without causing mass panic is at least having the ability to take the shape of a human, so remember that when you are making you character. Other than that, feel free to be a Neko, vampire, werewolf, shiki, a robot *cough* or others which I don’t know of!

    3.) There are 8 Society Members and anyone can apply for them. And then there are Seekers, which are people on earth hunting or involved with the disappearance of Balance. Whether they will conflict or aid the Society members will be up to you! Note: Time is the head of the members so he/she can be a bit bossy and over-powered but for all members, you are not true “gods” and we want to give the Seekers a chance at fighting so be sure to regulate your abilities and weaknesses wisely.

    4.) Lastly, no Mary Sues (a.k.a. the perfect Man/Woman) It just isn’t fun with them around. I don't mind beautiful, handsome, girly, buff or I will give some leeway but please, try not to be the perfect person. I really don't like denying characters.

    Standard Features:
    -Arm Guards: tough armor that can defend against light to medium energy weapons. Houses beam generators for arm-mounted energy weapons. Also houses the FD/MGs, FS/Rs, Hhb or HhR, as well as the Tks.
    -Backpack Unit: 4 thrusters allow powered jumps (2 stories), but not continuous flight; flight pack necessary. Also has storage racks on both sides for the HhB and HhR.
    -Phase Shift System: Allows short-range (min. 5m, max. 10m) teleportation, with an after-image to confuse possible enemies. Short cool-down (5 secs).
    -OVERHEAT Mode: The Beam generators release all stored energy, Bathing the user in a burning aura (100C), singeing organic matter a few meters away, and burning whatever is in contact. Energy weapons receive a significant boost in performance (about 3.2x), and the joints are bathed in an orange glow. After cooldown, energy weapons cannot be used until generators recharge.
    -Ceramic/metal composite armor: Immune to small arms fire, but high-caliber weapons (50 cal, bazookas) will cause damage.
    -Ejection System: Can eject body parts when necessary.
    -Extra Sensors: 2 Extra sensors mounted on shoulders; even if the head is blown clean off, not completely blind.

    Optional Equipment:
    -Flight Pack: Has 4 high-power thruster nodes to allow for sustained flight. Must eject equipment mounted on backpack mounts before docking.
    -Sniper Cannon: High-power, solid-round 16mm cannon that allows for shooting of targets of up to 200m away. 6-rounds, two-handed, and does not allow for mobility while in use.
    -Nova Blade: Quad-input, two-handed buster sword that cuts through solid blocks of steel like butter. Cutting edge is heated to 1200C while in use. Only usable in OVERHEAT Mode.

    Weaknesses:
    -Heavy impact (i.e. sledgehammer)
    -Energy weapons (except when blocked by arm guards)
    -High-power EMP (solar flare?)
    -Temperate: optimal operational temperature range -30C to 120C.
    -Heavyweight (very heavy, will fall through weak floors and such)
    -Concentrated: Majority of fighting power require arms; destroy the arms, and fighting power is reduced significantly.

    Alright then. You don't have to make your character that old since the members are chosen as heirs but if you want to, then I've got nothing against it.

    Gundam much? It doesn't look overpowered but decribe a little bit more about your character. Some questions I have are:

    1.) How big are bullets of you guns? tell me about damage report (i.e. the beams can tear through concrete but weakens once through) Oh, and although I can understand the stats of the weapons, some people will go blind looking at it so make it more as a full-detailed description (MWHAHAHA...MOAR WRITING) like: The sniper rifle he carries on his back is usually reserved for strong, persistent targets. With its state-of-the-art design and adjustable scope, he can fire at still targets with almost perfect accuracy.

    2.) I do understand japan's wide acceptance of gundams and the weird but someone's bound to notice a billions guns attached to him! Does he hide the guns somehow? Does he have to run somewhere to get them?

    3.)Just curious about his history since I never pictured a member of Evil this way...what transformed him into the robot he is? Why was he selected as Evil? Some background history would be nice and interesting.

    Dude this roleplay is seriously hardcore. I'm nervous but I'd like to join.

    Count me in. How many characters could we have? I am applying for Nightmare, pretty please. Also: Nightmare is a pretty slim, may I narrow it down to fears too?

    Name: Lale

    Gender: Male

    Age Range: 25-32 (I can't decide how old this guy is D<)

    Species: A shade. A manipulation of light and darkness within a conscience to form a tangible body.

    Appearance (Build, hair, skin, clothes...): Clicky here for a picture of him.
    He has really long black hair, up to about his thighs, usually tied back at the neck or thickly braided and coiled. His eyes are a bristling red, much like a nightmarish sky, and he is roughly 6'1" (185 cm), with long fingers and broad shoulders. Wears white gloves all the time. Every single one of his teeth is filed into a jagged edge, strong enough to tear through steel.
    (In Lale's original design he is missing an eye but since there's no point for him to be missing an eye here, let's just say he's biocular. XD)

    Belongings: His teeth, a few guns, a really long emo coat Cool The world is his playground, I suppose.

    Personality: Talks too much for a character who supposedly shouldn't ever talk. A very quiet type of man, offers his help if you can offer him a force--he's pretty pleasant once you get to know him. Sentimental, good-intentioned, but he isn't afraid to excercise his powers. Has a cold aura, walks along the crowd, lonely... Likes to hang about the alleyways of Tokyo to crowd-watch, sifting through their nightmares and fears.

    History: Angst. Yeah baby. Was probably a very normal man who was family-devoted and soft-hearted until he was plucked to do this job. Whoever chose him had chosen him for the despair he would undergo that would transform him into the embodiment of Nightmares. Probably has a dead family somewhere--maybe we can tie this in to some other roleplayer? Smile

    Skills, spells and abilities: The darkness is his ally, so he is frequently found nocturnalizing the nightscape. Can manipulate shadows and hide with ease. Also laden with curses enough to govern your worst nightmares; has hallucinogenic powers that delude and illude the mind. He has the power to manifest into your worst fear. Ages slowly (I'm assuming all of the people here do), and quite handy with pistols other aiming weapons.

    Weaknesses: The person who governs Dream, probably. Bright light (natural or artificial) will paralyze him for set amounts of time--he is very much capable of dying. Being shot will make him bleed, cutting off a limb can be regenerated but will still hurt like hell, beheading will kill him... (lol this is making him sound like a vampire...) Also: I believe that there are certain acidic foods he can't eat such as oranges, which will make him really ill...

    ^This is one of my frequently-used OCs ^^; I hope this fits in well...

    Since you are applying for magic, its is a little it hard to list out all the spells and powers possible for magic. Maybe write a generic list like basic manipulation of the 4 elements, specialize in contorl over nature etc etc. You dont' have to be specific like what Nico did *cough*

    Nothing wrong so far. Lols, you can discuss about your character's history options with others so 2 or even 3 Rpers may have a tied history!

    I'm glad you asked, as I've spent several hours devising rationale. I devote my life to rationalization of mobile suit technologies.

    I'm not going to post it now, because I'd take several days to write; I'll just provide simple answers for now.

    1) Regular beams are about the width of a highlighter; a beam like that will severely burn flesh, heat up metal considerably, make a large puff of steam in a lake, and would melt a mirror (it does not reflect, as it's a particle beam, not a laser). It isn't light based, so you won't go blind unless it was shot directly into the eyes (your eyes would be vaporized anyways). If I were to fit Shale in a hangar, it would (with normal/heavy weapons and flight pack equipped, but not optional weapons)
    fit in a roughly 1m x 1.7m x 2m area. The sniper cannon is 2.5m long with a 2-inch diameter barrel, and the Nova Blade is a (roughly) triangular 1.5m long blade with a 0.7m wide base.

    2) Default weapons (FD/MGs and FS/Rs) fit flush with the arm guard, while the HhB and HhR fit snug on the backpack, only increasing with by 0.2m. The Full-body Cloak is... just a giant piece of cloth, really. It covers the body completely like a long cape, and has a hood with mouth cloth to conceal the head. You wouldn't know it was a machine unless you looked directly into the thing's eyes (assuming the visor's up). The flight pack cannot be concealed under the cloak (it adds 1m to the depth), but there is a separation seam that allows the unit to be mounted conspicuously. The Nova blade and Sniper Cannon must be equipped before sortie, and must be ejected before mounting other weapons; they use the same charge slots.

    3) In the year 2382, Science found a way to transplant the soul of a Human being into a machine, using a Crystal medium. By using this crystal, any compatible recipient body could be planted with the crystal core, and the soul inside the crystal would gain control of the body, assuming the control interface is wired correctly. Now, on to the main story. A man who wished for immortality decided to become petrified in a crystal. Large spans of time passed, and he soon became weary of his existence. Soon after a series of betrayals he decided to put himself in NOVUS Military Technologies' latest Crystal Frame; The MCF-TX204 Shale. Alarms broke out, and he used the last warp gate to transcend time to the current day. Now highly advanced compared to his surroundings, he lives only for worldly desires, and an opponent worthy of being defeated by.

    I will probably make an entirely new thread for my character, as it is the most massive wall if ASCII text I will ever make.

    Might as well post my RP character then. He's gonna a Seeker, so a person on earth who will be looking for Balance for his own purpose.

    Skin colour: Tanned peach


    Clothes/Armor:
    Clothes: Casual white T-shirt with black pants. Wears traveler's boots and adorns a special cloak. The cloak is made from the skin of a dead Gorono Beast and has very limited resisting properties to magic and weather. It is black with random dark red lines spreading with a random pattern. Also wears glasses.

    Likes: Good food, happy atmosphere, a good challenge, to help others (not with minor day to day stuff but big issues). Likes to explore

    Dislikes: Selfish people, bullies, people who live for fighting, aggresive creatures

    Weapons: 2 light "Brute" swords

    Spells/Abilities:
    STA/AEA/MSXD seals - multipurpose seals which focuses the user's magic powers into a designated, immobile circle. The seals take a good amount of time to set up and activate so a distraction is usually required.
    STA is used to seep magic into in-organic objects and temporary change the physical properties. It is a basic seal with limited power. STA seal is characterized by its 3-layered circle and sudden appearance upon activation. AEA is primarly used as a binding seal and is only as strong as the concentration of the user which usually leaves the user at the emrcy of his allies or the enemies. The AEA seal is characterized by the 3-layers but the formation of the seal upon activation. The MSXD seal is a powerful seal used for destructive means but is the longest and most difficult to execute. Characterized by its 4-layered circle and its reddish glow.

    Energy blades - Magic focused into a bladelike shape on both of his hands. It deals crushing damage can be ruptured by Calvin to cause explosive damage but requires him to reform the blade.

    7 eyes - A special trait he inherited, the eyes grant Calvin several abilities depending on which eye he opens numerically. Each eye grants Calvin the corresponding ability and a lesser form of the previous eye:
    1st eye - allows him to "see" the world at a slower rate. In reality, the eye just boosts the electric impulse speed in and out of the brain.
    2nd eye - Enhances his muscle control and balance enabling him to perform acrobatics and counters he could not do before. Is still limited by the body.
    3rd eye - Allows Calvin to visually pick-up infrared and Ultra violet as well as thermal and magic waves.
    4rth eye - Causes an abnormal amount of magic to be produced and manifests into a gorrilla-shaped monster with Calvin in the core. His feral instincts takeover but some conscience remains. The energy entity is fast and its strength rests in the two massive arms used for pulverizing and smashing the opponent. It is capable of leaping with great agility though not very far. The energy surrounding Calvin is concentrated enough to cause a burn if in contact with it for too long. Luckily the entity has 2 weakspots: its belly and back. Although surrounded in magic energy, a strong, piercing hit would knock Calvin out of his entity form, leaving him tired and mostly drained.

    Passive Energy Shield - At the beginning of a battle, an energy shield surrounds Calvin protecting him from weak to mild attacks and causing the enemy to stagger is a physical atack connects. Once established, he can direct the shield to block any sides (or all) as long as the shield isn't broken. Stronger against physical, weaker against magic, stronger against slashing and normal strength attacks, weaker against crushing and power attacks. The shield can take a small amount of hits so Calvin often has to divert his attention to repairing his shield, much like health regeneration. However, if the shield shatters due to a solid strike, the reformation of the shield will take much more concentration and magic than repairing a damaged one.

    He is a fighter who relies on his magic to enhance his power and speed. He fights mercilessly and quickly, relying on a few blows to finish off his opponents.

    Weaknesses:: Relies heavily on his magic power for combat. Without it or if it is drained, he's just a normal human. As he fights, his magic is drained overtime and therefore can not last through a long fight.
    Also his options against very powerful attacks are very, very limited.

    Personality: At first glance, a serious, calm man with a lot to think about in his mind. Once you get to know him, he's still a serious but less calm and more active guy who like a joke once in a while. He is always determined and loves a good problem...even if he does complain about it. Is a good leader but not social.

    History: Once a regular human, he was surprised to discover his powers at the age of 10. Through self-discipline and secrecy, he became more and more familiar with his own powers even discovering more about them!
    His state of secrecy was lost when a hidden organisation called "GHOST" discovered his growing potential and attempted to kidnap him. The kidnapping failed with all GHOST operatives reported missing.

    Now Calvin is studying in a well-known university and working secretly in a different organisation which deals with keeping relations between Supernatural and naturals peaceful. Suddenly, Calvin recieved a call to investigate a massive disturbance over the island nation of Japan...

    Belongings: No real weapon, broken watch that shows some importance
    Personality: Cheerful, fun, childish and naive.
    History: He appears to be a normal boy but has an unknown past (so god damn creative -.-), he remembers nothing but his broken watch is important (His history and story will be explained later in the RP).
    Skills: He has no weapons but he can make illusions Smile, However he can't control his full potential quite yet so he can only show illusions to 2 people at a time, he does stuff with the mind, it's balls off the walls. He has some powers involving the element light. Also has some healing skills but he can't control it. Nothing is as it seems...... lol! His main way to travel is to hitch a ride from other members.
    Skill Descriptions:
    Where is Everything?: Confuses the enemy into and confuses the mind, the enemy sees nothing, basically a blank room.
    We're ALL MONSTERS!!: Clouds the opponents mind and thinks he's looking at gigantic monsters!
    Dream Dream DREAM: The opponent get's trapped in his own pleasure and dreams, Requires a lot of energy.
    Illusion Cloud!: Clouds teammates or with magical illusion powers, it creates a more physical type of an illusion to change the appearance of teammates, he can also give them partial invisibility
    A False Apocalypse: Timmy's strongest attack, all of his energy is drained from using it, lands break apart and everything gets destroyed, basically think the world is destroying, he enemies feel the pain but they aren't actually dying.
    Shiny Attack!: A basic light type projectile, does little damage but shows a lot of light
    SHINY LASER!: A ball of light heads to the sky and shoots light element lasers!
    BLIND!: With a combination of his illusion and light skills, he blinds only the enemies.
    ????: His random heal ability, his heal ability usually occurs when he's afraid, it heals a random amount of energy to a random person, POSSIBLY THE ENEMY.
    Weaknesses: He has no physical strength and is gullible, he's also very childish and ignorant.

    If I may make a suggestion, perhaps you should consider becoming a seeker; If the society and the seeker's interests to not coincide, then that way things might be more balanced.

    Also, what kind of illusions is your character capable of conjuring? Are they only visible to one person (affecting their mind only), or everyone (a physical illusion)?

    So you are gonna go for seeker? sure then. It looks like you are either unsure of your character's abilities or you want to develop/reveal them in details in the RP so I'll let that slide.

    Skin tone: peach, slightly tanned

    Body build: Elegant like a dancer

    Hair colour: long, night black, all the way to her waist. Her hair covers one of her eyes.

    eyes: grey iris. Has the "words of time" (ancient writing) around her iris

    Voice: naturally soft but can be resonatingly loud if she wants order and attention

    Clothes/Armor:

    wears a pure black dress and knee-high boots. Wears a necklace given to her by her family. She also wears a armband given to her by a kind shop owner on her left arm. On her hair, she wears a clock hairclip on her left side. Overall, she donnes a heavy cloak of previous Time members. The cloak is bright grey with a picture of an old, british iron-work clockface on it.

    She also holds a pink cellphone that now serves as a "timekeeper". It has all of its regular functions plus more. Like a PDA of some sort.

    Weapons:

    A long, thin rapier formed from her energy that can cut as well as it can stab. The rapier is black with an iron-wrought design. She wields the rapier with her right hand.

    Spells/Abilities:

    Using her abilities to bend time, she can increase her movement speed threefold. She can also concentrate on her speed alone, letting her "rush" her target and cover massive amounts of ground in a blink. Note she cannot use both types of dark speed at the same time nor can she instantly follow a "rush" with "rapid strikes" without taking a few seconds to switch the focus for speed. Despite her ability to move quickily, her eyes cannot keep up, often leaving her to re-observe the situation after using "rush". Also her concentration is imperfect so she can only use her speed effectively in short bursts.

    Vines of Time: Using her free left hand, she projects out seemingly solidified matter out of her hands, hitting her opponent with concentrated physical force. If the vines are inspected, it is revealed to contain many inscriptions of "Words of Time".

    Space Explosion: Using her ability to bend time, Xena links it with the "space" plane and turns her rapier into a volatile blade. When it ruptures at impact, it creates a small, gravitational explosion blowing anyone inside it back and if strong enough, Xena too.

    Wings: Once standard for all Society Members, wings save the unecessary option of walking from destination to destination. However, the spell for such wings were lost and as a replacement, Xena creates wings using her energy. It is not linked to her powers of Time. The wings are fragile to the slightest impact and is essentially a shining beacon at night and to energy detectors.

    "TIMED" execution: Can only happen with the approval of the majority of the members and also Xena. Once the target is binded and is in submission, the "Sword of Time" is formed and only Xena can wield it. The execution isn't a strike, rather it is a touch. The target would fade away peacefully out of existence.
    The sword can only be called for this purpose and it's killing effect only targets the person Xena is aiming for.

    Overall, she may have the power to manipulate Time and a little bit of space, she can not fully control it and as such, she has to pray at regular intervals to maintain her current control over it.


    Weaknesses:

    Daily prayers taking up to 15 minutes is necessary for Xena to maintain power. failure to do so will result in decline of her powers until she is reduced to a normal human. This state is reversible by re-continuing prayers.

    As the member of Time and because of her status, she can not openly engage/initiate a fight or kill due to a law that all members of time have sworn to. However, the members of Time are allowed to fight back in self-defence or use their powers to prevent mass destruction. The members of time are constantly trying to find loopholes.

    One exception to the Law is a "TIMED" execution, which can only happen with the aproval of the majority of the members.
    She also has a soft spot for all sorts of food, especially cake.

    Personality:
    A girl with a regular personality, Xena's only abnormal point was that she was obsessed with the japanese culture. She would frequently discuss about it to anyone who was interested.

    As the Member of Time, she is nervous about her job. She tries to be as fair as possible to the other members and rarely shouts. She tries to look like a natural-born leader but secretly, she looks at other members and people as rolemodels, learning everything about being a leader. She is open-minded and quick to accept her mistakes but is sometimes a pushover.

    History:
    Born in japan but was raised in the USA, Xena quickly became obsessed in Anime at the age of 13. If she wasn't hanging out with her friends or doing her homework, she would be sitting in front of her computer watching the latest anime. She would frequently bug her parents to take a vacation in Japan but was denied many times due to financial restrictions.

    At the age of 14, her parents suddenly decided to move to Japan because of great job offerings for both of them. Surprised but happy, they moved and ever since, they lived in a cozy apartment. Eventually at the age of 15, she was picked by the previous members of Time to replace the now deceased one.

    The more, the merrier but once Meki submits the two profile reserved for her, then we can actually start, and the others can participate if they feel like. We just need to start a story and make it look fun.

    If I could have made 2 characters instead of one, I would have written TWO WALLS OF TEXT for the occasion!

    Appearance: 190cm tall. Humanoid clad in shining blue armor. Katana and Wakizashi mounted on Right hip, Nodachi mounted on backpack (handle over left shoulder), Folding sniper rifle mounted on left. Shoulders, waist, and thighs follow Musha-style armor patterns, head is streamlined with a single, glowing, PINK Mono eye mounted on a track, covered with impact-resistant material. Can also be equipped with 6 Katana dubbed 'Dragon's claws'.
    Belongings: Katana 'Nichirinmaru' x1, Wakizashi 'Hyaku-Kiba' x1, Nodachi 'Takemikazuchi' x1.

    Personality: Bright and cheerful, always trying to be friends with everyone. Aloof most of the time, but can be serious when companions are in danger, which happens to be quite often.

    History: Sent by NOVUS and MX to find the stolen Shale, This prototype follows a more ancient lineage. Based on the warriors of the Sengoku era of Japan's history, The helmet sports a large Crescent-moon in gold. Head ornament often changes between engagements, from six coins, to a large '愛' (Ai/Love), to a blade antenna.

    Equipment:
    Katana 'Nichirinmaru' x1: Normal-sized Katana (90cm) with powered cutting edge, suitable for cutting through metal.
    Wakizashi 'Hyaku-Kiba': Beam sword. Can change output pattern from blade type (55cm) to shotgun-type (2.4m).
    Nodachi 'Takemikazuchi': Large sword (1.2m). Requires 2 hands, and also has a powered cutting edge.
    (OPTIONAL)Dragon's Claws: pair of 6 short Katana (70cm). held between the fingers of both hands, cutting edges facing inward. Used for heavy slashes.
    D.A.S.H pack: Allows for distances to be closed very quickly; max ground speed 85km/h, normal 20km/h. Also allows for hovering above water, and quick maneuvers.

    Weaknesses:
    Cyclops: Single camera with ample protection; designed for close encounters, and thus cannot see past 100m.
    Blade-user: Most weapons don't have a range past 2m; only close-range encounters are possible.
